Is there a way to get one daily summary of Remind, Bloomz and school emails?
Yes, with one label and one read a day. Get Remind, Bloomz and the school all emailing you, send those emails to one Gmail label, and read that label once a day. If you'd rather have one list across all of them, with one reminder each morning on your phone, that's what Daywell does.
Connect Gmail, or forward school emails from any inbox to your Daywell address.
What to do
- Turn Remind's email back on. When you download the Remind app, push notifications are turned on and Remind's text and email messages are turned off. To get email too, log in to Remind on a computer, click your name in the upper left-hand corner, choose Account settings, open the Notification Preferences tab and click the bell icon next to your email address.
- Choose email in Bloomz. In Bloomz, choose Account, then Notifications, and under Get notifications via pick Email, Push or Email Digest, then Save. Email Digest gathers the day's updates into one email instead of one message each time; Email sends each one as it happens.
- Send them all to one label. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add the Remind and Bloomz senders to it.
- Read the label once a day. For each email, pull out three things: the date, the ask (bring, sign or pay), and which child it's for. The rest of the newsletter can wait.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. You get one list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay, like "Maya: field trip form, sign by Wednesday". On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.
Questions parents ask
Does Daywell work with Remind and Bloomz?
Yes, through their emails. For ParentSquare and Remind, turn on email in the app's notification settings; Daywell knows them as school senders and reads those emails. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities, so in Bloomz choose Email, which sends each one as it happens.
Will I still get urgent Bloomz alerts?
Yes. Bloomz says Alerts from your school reach you through all channels, whatever you choose in your notification settings.
Will Daywell remind me?
Yes, on the iPhone and Android apps: one quiet reminder each morning, at a time you pick.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
