My school uses Infinite Campus. How do I make sure I see what it sends me?
In Campus Parent, open Notification Settings to choose what you get, and Contact Preference to choose phone, email or text.
In Campus Parent, click the user icon in the top right, open Notification Settings, and choose which kinds of notifications you want and at what threshold. To choose whether messages reach you by phone call, email or text message, go to Settings, then Contact Preference. Infinite Campus says notifications are not sent for tools your district has disabled, and only districts using Campus Food Service get low balance notifications. So ask the office what your school uses.
For an Infinite Campus email, connect Gmail or forward it to your Daywell address. For anything else, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
What to do
- Set your notifications. In Campus Parent, the user icon at the top right opens Notification Settings, where you opt out of kinds of notifications and set thresholds, such as only when a grade or score falls below a percentage or a lunch balance falls below a dollar amount.
- On the app, stay logged in. On the Campus Student and Campus Parent apps, you mark Stay Logged In to receive push notifications, if your school has enabled them.
- Set how the school reaches you. Under Settings, Contact Preference, you choose how you receive messages: phone call, email or text message.
- Ask the office what is switched on. Infinite Campus says notifications are not sent for tools your district has disabled, and only districts using Campus Food Service get low balance notifications. Write: "Which Campus notifications and messages does our school use?"
- Check the home page once a week. The Campus Parent home page collects the most important items needing a parent's attention for all of her students, and what displays depends on the district's preferences. Write down the date, the ask and which child.
- Label what comes by email. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add the sender of the first school message you get to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
How Daywell helps
Daywell (getdaywell.com) is the family prep assistant. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. Take a screenshot of the message, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. One list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them.
Questions parents ask
I'm not getting Campus notifications on my phone.
Check Stay Logged In, then ask the office.
On the Campus Student and Campus Parent apps, you mark Stay Logged In to receive push notifications, if your school has enabled them. Check Notification Settings too. Infinite Campus says notifications are not sent for tools your district has disabled, and only districts using Campus Food Service get low balance notifications. Ask the office.
Does Campus email me my child's grades?
Its help doesn't say so. Ask the office.
Infinite Campus says that, when push notifications are enabled for a district, users get notifications about assignments, grades, attendance records, lunch balance (in districts using food service) and responsive schedule. Under Settings, Contact Preference, you choose how you receive messages: phone call, email or text message. The help pages we read do not say grade notifications arrive by email, so ask the office.
How do I get Infinite Campus updates into Daywell?
Connect Gmail, or forward the email.
For an Infinite Campus email, connect Gmail or forward it to your Daywell address. For anything else, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes, just forward them.
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically. The first time you forward from a new address, Daywell asks you to confirm it's yours; after that, forward again and Daywell reads it.
A form or flyer came home. What do I do?
Share it as a PDF or a picture.
Share a PDF or a picture to Daywell and it reads it, on every device.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It starts with who it's from and the subject.
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
How do I get Daywell?
Start on the web.
Daywell is on the web. Start at getdaywell.com. It reads your school and activity email and tells you what your kids need ready.
