How do I keep up with TalkingPoints messages from my kid's teacher?
TalkingPoints reaches families by text message, in the free TalkingPoints for Families app, or on the web. Pick the one you'll check. When a message has a date or an ask, take a screenshot and put the date in the one list or calendar you keep for school.
For a TalkingPoints message, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
What to do
- Find out how it reaches you. Text messaging is available when your child's school has a paid TalkingPoints subscription; if your child's teacher uses the free version, use the free Family app or the website instead.
- If nothing arrives, check the phone number. If you are not getting messages, check that your school has your correct phone number on file.
- Pick one place to read it, and keep it. The text thread or the app, whichever you'll open every day.
- Screenshot a message with a date or an ask. The same day, take a screenshot and write down the date and the ask (bring, sign, pay, wear) in the list or calendar you keep for school, like "Maya: bring a library book Monday".
- Check once a week. Read your screenshots and your list together and pull out three things: the date, the ask and which child.
How Daywell helps
Daywell is the family prep assistant. For a TalkingPoints message, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. One list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.

I'm not getting any TalkingPoints messages. What now?

Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.
A paper flyer came home from school. How do I add it?
Take a photo or a screenshot, or save the PDF, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
