My daycare uses Procare. How do I make sure I see what they need from me?
In the Procare app, tap the Menu icon, select Edit Profile, and scroll to the Push Notifications and Email Notifications sections to adjust your settings. Then ask your center what it sends by email and text.
For a Procare update, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
What to do
- Switch on the notifications you want. In the Procare app, tap the Menu icon, select Edit Profile, and scroll to the Push Notifications and Email Notifications sections to adjust your settings. Procare says parents can manage their own notification settings in the Procare app, toggling on or off the ones they'd like, and that each school selects which activities to share with parents.
- Ask your center what it sends. Write: "Which things do you send by email or text, and which only show in the app?" Procare can send emails and text messages to families. The center decides, so ask.
- Reply from the app. Procare says you can't reply to a text message from your center, but you can reply from the Messages section of the Procare app.
- Check the activity feed once a week. Write down the date, the ask and which child, like "Pajama day, Friday, Ellie".
- Make a Gmail filter for the emails. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add the center's sender to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. Take a screenshot of the message, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them. One list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.
Questions parents ask
How do I get Procare updates into Daywell?
Take a screenshot of the message, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
I'm not getting Procare notifications.
In the Procare app, tap the Menu icon, select Edit Profile, and scroll to the Push Notifications and Email Notifications sections to adjust your settings. The center decides what it sends, so ask it.
My daycare texted me and I can't reply to it.
Procare says you can't reply to a text message from your center, but you can reply from the Messages section of the Procare app.
I never got my Procare invitation.
If you don't see your Procare invitation, Procare says to check your spam, junk, promotions or updates folders, and to sign up with the same email address the invite was sent to.
A form or flyer came home from daycare.
Share a PDF or a picture to Daywell and it reads it, on every device.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
