My daycare uses Playground. How do I not miss what they need from me?
Check that notifications are on for Playground on your phone and in the app, and that you're logged in. Then ask your center to send its announcements by email too. Playground lets the person sending an announcement choose the app, email or SMS, and more than one at once.
For a Playground update, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web.
What to do
- Switch notifications on. On an iPhone, turn on Allow Notifications for Playground in Settings; on Android, turn on Show Notifications. In the app, select which notifications you want and save. You must be logged in to receive them.
- Ask the center for email too. You could write: "Can you also send your announcements to my email?" Playground lets the person sending an announcement choose the app, email or SMS, and more than one at once. The center decides, so it's an ask, not a promise.
- If it comes to your email, label it. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add the center's sender to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
- For anything that stays a banner, open the app that day. When a post has a date or an ask (bring, wear, sign, pay), take a screenshot and write the task down where you keep the daycare ones, like "Ellie: bring a change of clothes Tuesday".
- Check once a week. Read the label and your screenshots together, and pull out the date, the ask and which child.
How Daywell helps
Daywell is the family prep assistant. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. For a Playground update, take a screenshot and share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them. One list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.

Can my daycare send Playground updates to my email?

I'm not getting Playground notifications at all.
On an iPhone, turn on Allow Notifications for Playground in Settings; on Android, turn on Show Notifications. You must be logged in to receive them.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.

How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
