How do I keep up with Konstella messages from my kid's class?
Konstella alerts you to activities in your school by email, and you manage your email preferences on your account settings page. Put those emails under one Gmail label with the school's other mail. When one has a date or an ask, write down the day, the ask and which child.
Connect Gmail, or forward school emails from any inbox to your Daywell address.
What to do
- Open your Konstella account settings and decide which emails you want. Konstella alerts you to activities in your school by email, and you manage your email preferences on your account settings page.
- File the emails with the school mail. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add Konstella to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
- Answer a sign-up from the email. You can respond to activities and sign up for volunteer opportunities straight from the Konstella email, without signing in to Konstella. Then put the slot on your list with its day.
- For the whole picture, open Konstella once a week. Konstella gives you a single view of what's happening at school and in your child's classrooms, and you can filter it to the school or one classroom.
- Skim and write down the task. Once a week, read the label and the Konstella view together and pull out three things: the date, the ask, and which child. "Ellie: Fall Festival, bring cookies, Friday" is easier to act on than a post.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them. For a post that matters, take a screenshot, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web, and Daywell lists what it asks for. You get one list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay, like "Ellie: Fall Festival, bring cookies, Friday". On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick.
Questions parents ask
How do I get Konstella posts into Daywell?
Take a screenshot of the post, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for.
I was invited to Konstella. What will I get?
Konstella notifies an invited parent by email about school and classroom activities, and she can sign up for volunteer jobs from the email.
I stopped getting the weekly digest. Why?
Konstella lists the weekly digest email of upcoming activities among the features a school can turn off. If you've stopped getting it, ask your school.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.
A paper flyer came home from school. How do I add it?
Take a photo or a screenshot, or save the PDF, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
