How do I keep up with all the BAND app posts and events from my kid's team?
In BAND, My Settings lets you choose push notifications for new posts, comments and events, and which notifications come by email. In BAND, open the More tab, choose Export Band Events, pick the calendar and copy the URL to paste into another calendar. Put the school's dates in that same calendar, and the two show up in one place.
Paste your team's BAND calendar link into Daywell, and the schedule shows up and stays up to date.
What to do
- Choose what BAND sends you. In BAND, My Settings lets you choose push notifications for new posts, comments and events, and which notifications come by email. BAND lets you get posts from everyone, only posts you're tagged in, or only Admins' or Subgroups' posts, and set Events to Reminders Only.
- Add the Band's events to your calendar. In BAND, open the More tab, choose Export Band Events, pick the calendar and copy the URL to paste into another calendar.
- Put the school's dates in the same calendar. For each school email with a date, add the date and what to bring the day it arrives, like "Ellie: bring a snack Friday".
- Check once a week. Read the week ahead and skim anything BAND posted that is not an event. Write down the date, the ask and which child it's for.
- Make a Gmail filter for the emails. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add BAND to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. Paste a team or school calendar link once, and Daywell keeps those events up to date. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. Take a screenshot of the message, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them. One list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.
