How do I keep track of Seesaw posts and school emails in one place?
With email set to All, you get an email for each new post or message. Keep those Seesaw emails under one Gmail label with the school's other mail. When a post or message has a date or an ask, write it down as a task with the day and which child.
Connect Gmail, or forward school emails from any inbox to your Daywell address.
What to do
- Choose how Seesaw reaches you. In Seesaw, tap your profile icon, then the Account Settings gear, then Parent Notifications. With email set to All, you get an email for each new post or message. With email set to Once Per Day, you get one daily email with the number of new posts or messages, but not the message content. Choose All if you'd rather keep Seesaw next to your school mail.
- File the emails with the school mail. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add Seesaw to it. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
- Catch the posts that ask for something. When a post or message has a date or an ask (bring, wear, sign or pay), take a screenshot that day, or write the task down where you keep the school ones.
- Answer a teacher in private if you need to. A Seesaw announcement is a one-way message. Family members can reply to it in a private message, if the settings allow.
- Skim both in one sitting. Once a week, read the label and your saved screenshots together and pull out three things: the date, the ask, and which child it's for.
- Write down the task, not the message. "Maya: wear red, Friday" is easier to act on than a post or a newsletter.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. With any email service, forward school emails to your Daywell address and Daywell reads them. For a post that matters, take a screenshot, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web, and Daywell lists what it asks for. You get one list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay, like "Maya: wear red, Friday". On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick.

Can I reply to a Seesaw announcement?
A Seesaw announcement is a one-way message. Family members can reply to it in a private message, if the settings allow.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?

How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
