How do I keep track of ClassDojo and school emails in one place?
If you use only the ClassDojo website, ClassDojo sends its notifications by email. With the ClassDojo app installed, it sends them to your phone as push notifications instead; it doesn't send both. A ClassDojo message from a teacher arrives as a notice that a message is waiting; you open ClassDojo to read it. Whichever way it reaches you, put every date or ask on the same list you keep for school email.
Connect Gmail, or forward school emails from any inbox to your Daywell address.
What to do
- Pick the way you'll check. Choose email if you'd rather keep ClassDojo next to your school mail, or the app if your phone is where you look first.
- If you chose email, file it with the school mail. In Gmail, make a filter for your school, daycare and activity senders and have it label them "School". Add ClassDojo to it. A ClassDojo School Update (a message from the school to every family) arrives with its text in the email or push alert. For a teacher's message, open ClassDojo and read it there. Choose Skip the Inbox (Archive it) only if you'll open that label every day.
- If you kept the app, catch the posts that ask for something. When a post has a date or an ask (bring, wear, sign or pay), take a screenshot that day, or write the task down where you keep the school ones.
- Skim both in one sitting. Once a week, read the label and your saved screenshots together and pull out three things: the date, the ask, and which child it's for.
- Write down the task, not the message. "Wear red, Friday" is easier to act on than a post or a newsletter.
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, puts your school email and your ClassDojo screenshots on one list. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at email and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. For a post that matters, take a screenshot, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web, and Daywell lists what it asks for. You get one list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay, like "Maya: wear red, Friday". On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick.

How do I get ClassDojo posts into Daywell?
Take a screenshot of the post, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for.
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. From any inbox, forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically.
A paper flyer came home from school. How do I add it?
Take a photo or a screenshot, or save the PDF, then share it to Daywell from your phone, or add it in Daywell on the web. Daywell reads it and lists what it asks for.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
