Is there an AI that can read my kid's school emails and remind me?
Yes. Daywell, the family prep assistant, uses AI to read the school, daycare and activity emails in your Gmail and puts what each one asks for on one list. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. If you'd rather not connect an app, a Gmail label and a short read once a day get you part of the way.
Connect Gmail, or forward school emails from any inbox to your Daywell address.
What to do
- Connect your email. Connect Gmail once, read-only. Daywell looks at your recent email, usually the last 10 days, and picks out the messages from school, daycare and activities. Not on Gmail? Forward school emails to your own Daywell address instead.
- Add what never reaches your inbox. Snap a photo of the paper flyer, or share a screenshot of a school-app post, and Daywell reads it too.
- Pick your morning time. On the iPhone and Android apps, choose when the morning reminder comes, so it lands before the morning rush, not during it.
- Glance at the list. Each item says which child it's for and what to bring, sign or pay, like "Maya: field trip form, sign by Wednesday".
How Daywell helps
Daywell, the family prep assistant, does that reading and list-making for you. It reads the school emails in your Gmail, read-only, and turns them into one list of what's coming up, which child it's for, and what to bring, sign or pay. On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick. Invite a partner and you both see the same list.
Questions parents ask
I use Outlook or another email, not Gmail. Can I still use Daywell?
Yes. Forward school emails to your own Daywell address, one at a time or automatically, and Daywell reads them. The first time you forward from a new address, Daywell asks you to confirm it's yours.
Can it read the school app, like ClassDojo or Brightwheel?
When a school app sends email, turn those emails on and Daywell reads them. For posts that only reach you as phone alerts, share the post or a screenshot to Daywell and it reads it.
How does the reminder work?
On the iPhone and Android apps, one quiet reminder comes each morning, at a time you pick.
Which AI does Daywell use?
Daywell uses Anthropic's Claude to read the emails that matter and pull out what to have ready. Those emails pass through Anthropic's Claude to find the to-dos. Anthropic does not train on them, and Daywell does not keep the emails.
Does Daywell read all of my email?
No. It looks only at who each email is from and its subject, over your recent email, and skips what Gmail files under Promotions, Social and Forums. It opens the ones it judges to be from school, daycare or activities. If it can't tell from the sender and subject, it opens that one too rather than risk missing it. The privacy policy explains what is kept and for how long.
Can it send or delete my email?
No. Gmail access is read-only. Daywell can't send, delete or change anything.
How do I get Daywell?
It's in invite-only early access. Join the waitlist on getdaywell.com and we'll send one email when your spot opens. It's free while in early access.
